His latest book, The Last Unicorn, was published in 2015. DeBuys lives on a small farm in northern New Mexico where he lives to write and writes to live.

Jack Loeffler is a writer, pioneering environmentalist, Historian, musician and ethnomusicologist. He is renowned as an advocate for the natural world and champion of people who live on the land with respect. Jack has written five books including Headed Upstream: Interviews With Iconoclasts and Adventures With Ed: A Portrait of Abbey. Loeffler has also produced hundreds of recordings and radio shows. He was one of the founders of Black Mesa Defense Fund, an environmental group with radical ideas.
