Guest: Dr. Rob Tenery
For Rob Tenery, medicine is in his blood. He is a third generation physician. His grandfather arrived in Texas on horseback 100 years ago and made history by opening the first hospital in a small Texas town and then in the 1950s desegregating it. His father and grandfather often worked 100 hour weeks… medicine was their life.
Rob Tenery took a slightly different path and became an opthamologist with somewhat regular business hours. This left him time to become active in local and national political-medical organizations. For 8 years he wrote a monthly column for American Medical News.
Since then, Dr. Tenery has written four books about the medical profession and it's current state in the US. - Those books include: Dr. Mayo's Boy, A Century of American Medicine, Bedside Manners: A Compendium of Physician Relationships..
Now Dr. Tenery has put his knowledge of medicine to use writing fiction. His latest book- Insurrection, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue- is a medical- political thriller.
