Producer and Host: Abigail Adler

Guest: Elizabeth J Church

Elizabeth Church has just come out with her second novel-- All the Beautiful Girls, published by Ballantine Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Elizabeth Church practiced as an attorney in NM for more than thirty years before she walked away from the law for good to pursue a life-long promise to herself to make a career writing full time.

Church's legal career involved extensive writing for legal publications and scientific journals… keeping her writing arm in practice.

Elizabeth Church's first novel, published last year, The Atomic Weight of Love displays Church's intimate knowledge of the NM landscape and the lives of educated women who sacrificed their careers so that their husbands could pursue unique opportunities in scientific research at the Los Alamos Labs.

Her new book , All the Beautiful Girls, takes us behind the scene in the city where what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. It's a town where talented women find glamorous careers on the stage. Careers, but maybe not fulfillment.

Guest: Former NM State Senator Dede Feldman and

           NM State Senator Bill O'Neill

Dede Feldman retired after representing the North Valley of Albuquerque in the State Senate for 16 years.  But that is not the end of the story…   the story is still going strong as Feldman continues to champion progressive values and programs for NM. In 2014 she published INSIDE THE NEW MEXICO SENATE:BOOTS, SUITS AND CITIZENS…which won two awards.

And now, just out, her newest book is- ANOTHER WAY FORWARD; GRASSROOTS SOLUTIONS FROM NEW MEXICO. Feldman has a bachelors degree and a Masters in political science from the University of Pennsylvania. In Albuquerque, she and her husband live in a solar home they built in 1976.

Bill O'Neill is a New Mexico State Senator.  He has been Executive Director of the NM Juvenile Parole Board. He has been an Ivy League record-holding football player.....and, he is a Poet.

It's all in his new book of poems- FREEDOM OF THE IGNORED

Many of the poems are inspired by the rough-and-tumble boys-and girls club that is the NM Legislature. Legislators may be hiding their deepest thoughts, desires and emotions from each other, however, poet O'Neill brings it all to lyrical light -much like a traditional Irish bard.
