Producer and Host: Abigail Adler

Guest: Jan Brett

At this moment,   New York Times bestselling author and illustrator, Jan Brett, has more than 40 books in print..  Her children's books are adorned with intricate, magical, super-realist drawings of imaginary worlds on every page. Brett also writes the text. Brett spends a lot of time at home and abroad researching her books. Her best selling books include,  Annie and the Wild Animals published in 1985, Fritz and the Beautiful Horses, and The Mitten. Some of Jan Brett's illustrated books are classics like: Beauty and the Beast and The Owl and the Pussy Cat.

Her latest book, just out is The Mermaid- about a young mermaid who becomes trapped in the home of a family of Octupuses and figures out a graceful way to escape from their clutches.

Brett comes by her extensive knowledge of the animal world through her own passion for all creatures.  She is an award-winning breeder of fancy chickens, a lover of turtles - and she lives in harmony with all manner of creatures at her home in Norwell Mass.
