Carl was inspired to begin writing by his high school English teacher, Sister Contardo and received his degree in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. While in college his poems were published locally. A 45-year hiatus included travel, marriages, his son Sam, groundskeeping, a degree in Horticulture, a landscaping business, men’s groups, work at Seattle Tilth Association and the City of Seattle.
