Anne Hillerman's newest novel, The Tale Teller, is the fifth in her Navajo Mysteries series.  It continues the saga of the Navajo policemen Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee and policewoman Bernadette Manualito. It also continues the legacy of her father, Tony Hillerman, the famous author of 18 Leaphorn and Chee detective novels  Anne Hillerman has established herself firmly in the detective genre with THE TALE TELLER. All of her books in the series have become New York Times bestsellers.

Ann Hillerman, was a writer long before she began the Navajo mystery series. Hillermen wrote non-fiction pieces and worked as the editorial page editor for the New Mexican and the Journal North. Before that she worked as a reporter in print, , radio and TV.

Along with her husband and partner, photographer Don Strel,  Hillerman published the book, Tony Hillerman’s Landscape: On the Road with Chee and Leaphorn.

Anne ran the Hillerman writer’s conference and established the Tony Hillerman prize for best first mystery set in the Southwest.

Anne Hillerman grew up in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, NM.
