Guest: Carrie Gibson

Author Carrie Gibson has just come out with a new book- EL NORTE:The Epic And Forgotten story of Hispanic North America. Her first book, Empire's Crossroads: A History of the Caribbean from Columbus to the Present Day was published in 2014. Gibson earned a masters in history from the University of London and a PhD in history from the University of Cambridge.

After working for smaller publications and newspapers she worked at the Guardian in London from 2000 to 2006. She continues to contribute to the Guardian and its sister paper the Observer. Gibson's work has appeared in other media outlets, including BBC Radio 4 and Vox. Carrie Gibson lives in London--- however, she joins us by phone from Atlanta, Georgia.
